Sony didn’t play fair with Europeans when it announced a price-cut for US PSP by 20%. To equalize the things, Sony Europe has decided to follow SCEA’s footsteps. SCE Europe has also announced to bring an immediate price drop to PSP handheld by approximately US$40.

The PSP will go on sale across Europe from May 4th for new reduced price £129.99(US$260) from its original price £149.99(US$300). The price hack is £20($40) that is $10 higher to that of American price-cut.

However, critics are saying that Sony is a bit late in bringing down the price of portable system that made its debut two years back, but PSP is the handheld that is selling well out of Sony’s all gaming gadgets so as to recuperate the loses fetched by PS3.

However, Sony is considering a PS3 price drop as well, but the low sale of PS3 is making it a hard nut to crack for Sony.

Although, the price cut was significant, which Sony had been considering for so long, because PSP is the handheld that is still in tough competition with its chief rival, Nintendo DS Lite that costs far lesser than PSP at US$129.99.

The price cut will make many handheld anticipators buy a PSP and relatively a good enough retribution to crack the unbreakable hold of Nintendo on the handheld market.

In addition to this, five new titles have been added to Platinum series for £14.99 each. Ridge Racer 2, Tekken, Killzone, Loco Roco, and Moto GP are the new titles that Sony will make available for the PSP handheld.
