Games Radar managed to get hold of a couple of top executives who worked on the Final Fantasy III project on the DS during the recent Tokyo Game Show, and interrogated them regarding the general direction of Square-Enix regarding the future of the Final Fantasy franchise on Nintendo’s third pillar platform.
It seems that stunning sales numbers in Japan has led Square-Enix by the nose to just remake all the other classic Final Fantasy titles instead of just porting them over which they did with Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI.
It is a good thing to see ties renewed between Square-Enix and Nintendo as gamers who own both the GBA and DS Lite are able to enjoy the offerings from one of the traiblazers of RPGs. Keep it coming, Square-Enix! Our thumbs and wallets are more than ready to accept premium titles.
