We know that there are plenty of Pokemon to catch, but what we didn’t know is that there were that many. It seems that both Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have sold an astounding 1,575,266 copies since the game’s launch on Sunday up to last Thursday. When broken down, Pokemond Diamond fared slightly better by moving 813,237 copies, which is 52,208 more than what Pokemon Pearl sold.
Truly astounding. This will definitely impact the number of hardware sales as well, hammering another nail into the PSP’s coffin. And that’s only the Japanese version. Will we see similar sales figures when the game ships to North America and Europe? Kids are kids after all, and Nintendo sure knows what keeps them coming back. Must be all the Magic Mushrooms their game designers have been taking.
