Sorry folks, if you’re hoping that Christmas came a little early this year due to Sony slashing the price on their PSP, you’re out of luck.

The only way you’re getting a cheaper PSP would be scouring through the miry depths of auction sites like eBay, and hope that somebody posted a wrong price on their purchased (but hardly used) PSP.

Could this be another marketing move by the beleaguered Japanese electronics giant to maintain a sense of superiority of their handheld console, hoping that the high price will reflect on the sophistication and perceived value of their product?

Sony should know by now that a high premium placed on their product that comes with everything but the kitchen sink will not move sales figures much, but concentrate on the playability of their games.

You know, impact learning and all. Apparently the PSP is one tough nut to crack. At least you folks can use that money and pick up a fourth DS Lite instead. After all, sharing is caring - there’s no better way to show your love to the rest of your family members with 4-way Mario Kart DS.
