Well, well, what do we have here. It is the same old news each week as the DS Lite continues to conquer all in the world of hardware sales. The DS Lite sales figures have literally doubled this week thanks largely to the release of yet another Pokemon title, shifting an immense 274,389 units while the PSP remains steady at 25,319, an increase of slightly over 9%.
That’s just in Japan, which is not indicative of the worldwide market, but the trend can be used as a general description on the whole. With Sony refusing to budge from lowering the price of their PSP, we don’t see this dire situation changing anytime soon.
The DS Lite is a great console with fantastic games, but the Sony PSP could have done so much more with its potential. Monopoly is never a good thing, and it would be nice to see the DS Lite being challenged by the PSP in terms of games to give the gamers a win-win situation.
