The Nintendo DS has long dominated the PSP in terms of software, sales, and even peripherals. This statement of fact probably irritates Sony executives to no end, and could the PSPJ-15003’s release this November 2 be a result of despair in the race to claim back market share?
The PSPJ-15003 is a 1.3 megapixel camera that strangely is capable of taking only still photos in 640 x 480 pixels resolution. This is equivalent to what low end cameras on cellphones are capable of, which relegates the $44 PSPJ-15003 into the realm of cheap webcams.
Will the introduction of newer peripherals and add-on to the PSP platform revive its flagging sales? Perhaps only in Japan, but can you actually think of other practical, useful ways to utilize the PSPJ-15003?
