The Nintendo DS’ microphone function is underutilized in games, and I always was a little bit apprehensive of it as I wouldn’t want to get spit all over my precious DS during frantic gameplay moments. Apparently Undercover: Dual Motives will make use of the microphone in some of the more endearing moments within. Imagine blowing paper darts at him literally by aiming with the stylus on one hand and puffing away. Anyone who sees you doing that in public will probably get turned off and complain about how the DS teaches people to be rude, but they just don’t get the point do they? No idea on when Undercover: Dual Motives will be released, but the screenshots on the right (not sure if it is actual gameplay or not) look pretty sweet. Source: DS Fanboy

Lifesigns – yet another Hospital game
Can’t get enough of Trauma Center: Under the Knife? Fret not, there is more hospital action coming your way with Lifesigns: Hospital Affairs for the Nintendo DS platform. As usual, you play the protagonist who has the task of saving lives inside Lifesigns. The difference of a single second could mean life or death for you, so make sure you steady those jittery hands when performing a delicate surgery procedure. You begin as an assistant doctor who talks and operates his way to the top of the food chain, touching lives in the process. In fact, the entire thing works out pretty much like one of those Japanese soap operas you catch on TV. The gameplay claims to be open-ended without any linearity, but that remains to be seen. All I know is I’m stoked with the idea of the possibilities offered in Lifesigns. You can expect to see this title hit stores sometime in Q1 2007. Source: DS-X2
Bleach DS 2nd Screens…
The Nintendo DS looks set to receive yet another top notch title with Bleach DS 2nd Screens, but it looks as though gamers living Stateside are on the losing end as they haven’t even received the first version while the Japs already have a sequel on their hands. From the screenshots, we know that the sequel to this massively popular multiplayer title will bring more exciting online battles for owners of the DS. There is just something about unbridled violence that gamers seem to thrive on these days, as we have certainly come a long way from the days of pill poppers like Pac Man. Source: Go Nintendo
More Pokemon goodness coming your way
Pokemon: Diamond/Pearl will definitely receive a hot reception in the American market, just like how all other Pokemon games were in the past. It will most probably see a spring release date despite troucing opposition in software sales since its release in the local Japanese market. So far reviews of the Japanese versions have been nothing but glowing, and you know an American release will do nothing but further bolster the Pokemon brand and see an exponential increase in DS Lite sales. Expect to see the new WiFi trading system come into play with the Diamond/Pearl version as well. Source: DS Fanboy
Final Fantasy Tactics on PSP feature new cutscenes, jobs
Looks like the upcoming Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSP platform will come with new cutscenes in addition to job classes. In addition, there will be ad-hoc multiplayer to make the game all the more interesting. This is good as you could always borrow one of your friend’s Calculators when it comes to decimating an entire map of enemies. It is also interesting to note that Square Enix is currently working on RPGs for both the Nintendo DS Lite in addition to the PSP platform – and with word of a Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced 2 coming out on the DS Lite, which would you, our dear reader, choose? A slightly revamped version of the PSOne game, or a totally brand new game that was developed from ground up while retaining the great qualities of its PSOne predecessor? Source: PSP Fanboy
Buy, sell, and contra on your DS
No, the Contra we’re talking about isn’t Konami’s classic side-scrolling shooter, but is actually making sweet money with nothing down in the stock exchange. Capcom hopes to repeat the unprecedented success of their courtroom drama Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney by developing a new adventure series known as Stock Trader Shun in English. Shun is a young gun in the world of stocks, and will be the main protagonist in this game. His father is a prosperous trader who made his mark in the market, but then disappeared mysteriously and suddenly half a decade ago. Shun enters the market, hoping that some of the old man’s skills have rubbed off him in order to make a fortune in the process, and we presume Shun will also look for his old man as well. There is no official word on whether Stock Trader Shun will make it Stateside, but we can always hope, can’t we? Source: DS Fanboy
Pump It Up to appear in Korea
In a pretty weird manner, the PSP is one of the better platforms available for the music game genre, which was definitely not what Sony had evisioned when they first released this handheld. Pump It Up is pretty much in the same vein as Dance Dance Revolution, and proved to be quite the popular title in Korea. A PSP version should be making its way to Korea soon after appearing on Sony PSP’s official Korean site. Pump It Up uses diagonals and a center button during gameplay, which leads us to question – “How will such a control scheme be mapped on the PSP?” We’ll leave that for you to ponder upon. Sneak Peek of Xyanide Resurrection
PSP owners will be delighted to catch hold of some new screenshots of Playlogic’s new shooter which is known as Xyanide Resurrection, courtesy of Gamespot. I’m not too keen on the premise of the game as it involves shooting larger-than-life pre-pubescent, scantily-clad boys in outer space, but there are sure to be a few folks who would beg to differ. Whatever floats your boat, mate. Playlogic claims that this game will feature video-streaming technology that meerges both video backgrounds and real time game screens, touting it to be the first in a handheld game. Those in the Nintendo camp beg to differ as they claim that Nanostray on the DS and Iridion 2 on the GBA have already forged this path. Source: PSP Fanboy
Jeanne d’Arc trailer
Check out the brand new Jeanne d’Arc trailer that features a handful of the game’s 150 characters. There are also tons of footage from the game’s cut scenes to keep you entertained as well as grid-based combat action. Based loosely on the story of the historical Joan of Arc, this Japanese-centric title for the PSP will come with 40 to 50 stages and ought to keep you occupied from anywhere between 7 hours to 25 hours before reaching the finish line. It might not be a Final Fantasy or even come close, but at least it offers something different in view of the current situation. Jeanne d’Arc will ship in Japan from November 20th onwards. It won’t be released in the U.S. at the moment, so you will have to import one if you want it for Christmas. Source: PSP Fanboy
After Burner: Black Falcon lookin’ good
After Burner: Black Falcon from Planet Moon Studios is starting to shape up to be one of the better looking titles on Sony’s handheld console. This classic from the halycon days of Sega has been blessed with polygons beyond measure and look set to set the skies alight with its fast-paced action. This PSP-exclusive title will come with a completely unique storyline as well as character development, something which is getting rarer these days for video games. There are over 30 single player missions to keep you occupied when this title hits store shelves, while various multiplayer modes are guaranteed to keep you going long after the single player novelty has worn off. Look out for After Burner: Black Falcon’s release sometime next spring. Source: PSP Fanboy
