After having some good fun with Contra 3, it’s time to move forward as Konami has announced a new the sequel in the series i.e. Contra 4 for Nintendo DS. The publisher ravels the title through a press release. The moderate side-scrolling action game will be an undeviating sequel to the prequel, Contra 3 that is playable on SNES, GB, GBA, NSS, etc. The game starts forward right from the place where Contra 3 Alien Wars leaves off.

The new iteration introduces two new characters named Mad Dog and Scorpion (were named which were the names used for Bill and Lance in the American release of Contra) and a new weapon, “the grappling hook” that will help them take on the alien Black Viper across two screens.

The press release refers to the game as a 2D sides-croller, but it’s vague either they are referring to viewpoint only or graphics as well. Anyway, hope for a full 2D version. The game will be featuring multiplayer mode as well that lets you battle against your enemies while teaming up with other two friends of yours. Press Release here.

Look around for the new game by the end of this year.

While the PS3 and Xbox360 are getting Katamari fun from Namco Bandai’s next installment in the franchise, Beautiful Katamari, but with the introduction of Katamari Damacy Mobile, Namco has fueled our addiction.

According to the publisher, Katamari Damacy Mobile will feature tilt-roll as it makes its debut in June over 904i phones (iMode series) in Japan (because the phone is available in Japan only).

Katamari Damacy Mobile will come pre-bundled with P904i phones, and owners of other models can get it downloaded on their respective cells through Namco Games Channel.

Though, the game makes a good use of motion-sensing feature, Namco must have a Wii version in the pipeline as Wii-mote is the Wii’s gaming accessory that makes a good use of tilt-sense. What do you think?

The title is Sonic Rush Adventure that is currently underdevelopment from Dimps.

Last month, Sony announced a sequel to LocoRoco game sans leaving any remarks on a PSP version, but the developer can never overlook love of millions of gamers who afforded to buy a copy of the hot title for their portable consoles last year. To get things in order, LocoRoco director, Tsutomu Kouno has announced the sequel for the PSP as well. When asked if LocoRoco 2 will come to the PSP, he replied -

Yes, there will. I’m thinking about a sequel for the PSP right now. I got a lot of feedback from players that they bought a PSP just to play Loco Roco so I feel like I have to make a sequel for them.

The PS3 version of the game is likely to come as a downloadable content through PlayStation Network with 200 new LocoRoco characters in an entirely new world.

No other detail/screenshots for handheld version of the game have been released, but we are sure that it will play great on the PSP.

Already rumored a lot for the DS, Neversoft Guitar Hero III finally has received an official nod for the Nintendo’s handy platform. Talking to Cnet, Red Octane’s COO, Charles Huang clued that Guitar Hero DS is in the works. With handheld’s unique features like dual-screen and touch-screen panels, the game will play exceptional.

Describing the DS version, Huang explained that the developing team is trying to offer some very different approaches by bringing empirically tested game to the portable platform so as to make handheld version a unique experience, which is on par with consoles’.

However, the big question taking high tides in my mind is how would we control the game without a full-size guitar? Will the developer introduce a tiny guitar or embed a couple of buttons that stick on the DS? However, the official did say nothing, but emphasized on its affordability fitting within the environment which people usually play DS games in.

How the game will play on the handheld still remains a mystery however, but undeniably, they will have to come up with some cool stuff because everyone would refuse to play Guitar Hero without a guitar.

Guitar Hero III is originally developed as a console game that will support all three next-gen consoles with PS2 as it makes its debut this October.

Let’s see when the console game goes portable.
In accordance with new schedule, the game will be out on Sony’s portable platform ‘PSP’ on March 4th, 2008, across US.

What made Ready At Dawn Studios to miss out such a lucrative Christmas trade period is unknown yet, but apparently it’s development issue that made the developers reschedule its launch date. On the basis of exception hypothesis after deeming the popularity of the prequel GOW II on the PS2, it was hoped that the title would be a potential PSP title debuting this Holiday season.

As the SCE has rolled out the first game trailer, apparently those who signed up for a demo on the official site would also receive a demo bundled with a playable level and extra behind-the-scenes footage, later this month.

When our European chums would be able to get their hand on the game is currently unknown, but hope SCE would clinch the issue sooner than later.
The respective RE titles are Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2.

The posted videos illustrate the Resident Evil pretty nicely tuned with both handheld platforms. One would have never though of Resident Evil GC goodness, but after watching the videos over youtube, has left all us thunderstruck.

Unfortunately, the development was later canceled on both of these titles.

Giving new meanings to life simulation genre, Mercury Games has brought a pair of new titles to Nintendo’s best-selling portable platform DS. Titles are Aquarium by DS and Fantasy Aquarium by DS that comprise some sort of fish feeding simulation. Certainly, duo games have been designed keeping in mind non-repetitive phenomenon like every second life simulation genre follows (caretaking of kitten and puppies).

The new project is teamwork of Mercury Games and Japanese publisher Ertain BV that has given new shape to life simulation genre, which allows player to breed fishes in a tank.

As per press release, both the games are poles apart, as ‘Aquarium by DS’ allows player to take care of the fish that can be kept in tanks, whereas ‘Fantasy Aquarium by DS’ allows the player to keep fish which could never be kept as pets in a tank such as Blue whales, dolphins, Seals and sharks.

There are five tanks that can be customized and 30 different species of fishes in each game; more fishes can be unlocked through healthy fish care. If player doesn’t care for them, the fishes start dying and disappearing from the tank.

Of course, the games are E-rated that can be played by people of all age-group. Both the games will see their respective launches this December.

The latest issue of Famitsu confirms that Square-Enix is working on Dragon Quest sequels for Nintendo’s dual-screen handheld DS. The new titles underway are Dragon Quest VI, V and VI that the developer is contemplating to ship to Nintendo’s portable platform in Japan later this year.

Jump over the latest scans that the magazine comes with confirming three Dragon Quest remakes, each with different plot and exclusive update.

The scans reveal that all three games will be receiving a graphical upgrade making them look better on the portable platform. However, Dragon Quests IV and V have already received a remake into 3D and are released on the PSOne and PS2, respectively, yet again the same RPG trio receives a mod in favor of keeping moneymaking rollercoaster revolving.

It’s hard to articulate that whether ‘Dragon Quest VI’ that has never seen a release outside of its native place (Japan), will ascend Japanese frontier or will remain region exclusive only.

Furthermore, the magazine clues that the first game of all three Dragon Quest remakes could be ready for purchase sometime this winter.
